Eastar Makes Everything Perfectly Clear for Merle Norman

Merle Norman Cosmetics wanted an upscale look for its new Luxiva brand of liquid foundation and found the material that could deliver the look and performance it needed in Eastman Chemical’s Eastar AN004.

The goal was to find a polymer that could simulate the distinctive clarity and rich substance of thick blown glass. “We prefer to use plastic so that we can create a more unique product,” said John Ramirez, Merle Norman in-house molding manager.

Merle Norman wanted a clear, thick-walled bottle,which it succeeded in creating when, without using a preform, it simultaneously injected and blew the bottle, resulting in the container it desired.

Thanks to Primapack, a Cosworld subsidiary located in Paris, France, Maybelline’s Water Shine Liquid Diamonds lip gloss has as much glimmer and sparkle on the outside of the package as on the inside.

Water Shine Liquid Diamonds’ PET tube is sheathed in a resistant film and decorated with advanced hot-stamping.

The product has been such a hit in the market that Primapack has manufactured 2.5 million components per month for a total of 10 million pieces in six months.

Calvin Klein Opts for Rexam’s Low Profile, ‘Crimpless’ Pumps
Calvin Klein’s Sheer OBSESSION Foaming Bath and Shower Mist and Hydrating Body Shimmer are both topped off by Rexam Dispensing Systems’ low profile pump (TNP70). Featuring Rexam’s Crimpless System‚ the pumps are able to dispense both products in a fine mist spray similar to that used in fragrances.
